After a
semester of College Writing II, I get to review all my projects. It fascinates
me to see how my writing has progressed. My topic for the projects was
automobiles. I chose automobiles because I like learning new things about cars.
I liked my topic, but when it came to the research paper I found it really hard
to come to a specific topic about automobiles. When writing my research paper,
I had specific goals to meet like: get my argument across, show the negatives
about automobiles and the positives of fuel-efficient cars. I believe that I
did meet those goals in my research paper. I think doing the photo essay did
help make finding the research topic easier. The photo essay gave you multiple
topics to pick from for your research topic, but it gave you a general idea on
what to research about. For my topic it
was hard to find a good amount of information. Lewis University’s library made
looking for books really easy to find, and the online look up allow the
researching time to be cut in half. The most challenging part of the research
paper was the introduction because the body paragraphs we were using direct
quotes, and synthesizing them. My classmates helped out a lot by proof reading
my drafts, and also giving me good ideas to use in my writing. They helped me
become a better writer. I learned many things from my peers. They thought me
how they write, how they interpret information, and how they feel towards their
topic. Overall, College Writing II helped me become a better writer than what I
was before.
